After performing much research and our due diligence, the leadership of the South Florida 9.12 has decided that Edward Lynch most represents our goals and ideals, and is the best choice to replace Robert Wexler in Florida's 19th Congressional District. We ask our membership to support his campaign in whatever way they can.

While there are many subjects on which our members disagree, there are a set of fundamental issues that have awakened us, united us, and driven us to act:

  • Out of control spending and fiscal irresponsibility of our government
    • TARP, Stimulus bills, bailouts, out of control debt and the deficit
  • Limits on the role of government and adherence to our Constitution
    • The various healthcare bills, cap & trade
  • Treating terrorists like enemy combatants, not like citizens
    • Civil trials instead of military tribunals for the planners of the 9/11 attacks
    • Miranda rights instead of interrogations for captured enemy combatants and terrorists

This endorsement is consistent with our mission statement, which calls us to:

  1. Identify like-minded public servants already in office to help us move our agenda forward.
  2. Identify like-minded candidates to replace those public servants that choose to block our agenda.
  3. Encourage citizen interaction and involvement with these public servants to ensure their continued representation of our agenda.

In keeping with our goals, the leadership decided that it was important to consider all 3 candidates for the congressional seat after the primaries, and endorse the individual most able to move our agenda forward.

Senator Ted Deutch's positions on the issues - his support, in general, of the current administration's fiscal policies, his faith in perpetually increasing the size of government to solve our problems, as well as his endorsement by the prior Congressman Robert Wexler, and other like-minded individuals - led us to decide that his election would be a setback for our agenda.

The two remaining candidates are Jim McCormick and Edward Lynch. Both gentlemen have expressed comparable conservative positions on the key issues mentioned above, both in line with ours. While most of us knew Mr. Lynch and may or may not have supported him during the primary, we felt it was important to meet Mr. McCormick before committing ourselves to any candidate. Earlier this week, we met separately with both candidates and
evaluated them on the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of the issues
  • Ability to articulate why they were running and what they hoped to accomplish
  • Activism - what involvement had they had in the community, in the district and on the key issues
  • Campaign strategy - given the very abbreviated time remaining until the April 13 election - what were they going to do to mobilize the troops and gain support (volunteers, financial support, media etc) to get out the vote amongst affiliated and unaffiliated voters
  • Intensity - ability to devote the energy and time to win the seat.

We enjoyed meeting with Jim McCormick and would appreciate his future involvement in South Florida 912 activities. We believe he would make a fine public servant and should consider other competitive positions in the upcoming county and state elections. However the leadership was unanimous that Edward Lynch was the candidate that came closest to meeting our criteria, and had the best chance of winning the special election.

The South Florida 9.12 Project leadership endorses Edward Lynch for Florida's 19th Congressional District. We've already made a difference in Palm Beach County, our state, and our nation, with the actions and activities that our group has participated in over the last year. Please join us in working to elect Edward Lynch to our United States Congress.

The South Florida 9.12 Project is a non-partisan organization, interested in good government at all levels, and restoring conservative principles to both our government and our lives. The 9.12 refers to 9/12/2001, and tries to capture the feeling we all had as a nation when we put aside our partisan differences to fight the attack on our country. Pompano Beach, Fl - The Republican Majority Campaign PAC has endorsed conservative Republican candidate Edward Lynch for the 2010 Special Election taking place in barely a week.

"Our endorsement cannot go to a better man. He has worked extremely hard to make sure that the people of the 19th district know that he will fight and do what is right for them in Washington DC. Ed is a great man of character and I am proud to say we fully support his candidacy for the 19th Congressional District." said Daniel P. Diaz, Florida Project Director of the RMCPAC.

Readers can visit candidate Lynch's campaign website for more information, if they wish.

RMCPAC is a multi-candidate PAC that is dedicated to restoring the Republican majority in Congress in 2010 by advancing a Platform of lower taxes, individual liberties, strong national defense, and support for the free enterprise system. During the 2008 election cycle, RMCPAC raised over $4,000,000 and spent nearly 90% of the funds raised in support of Republican candidates and in independent expenditure campaigns.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Edward graduated from Jefferson Township High School in New Jersey before enrolling as an undergraduate at Drew University in 1983.  At Drew, Edward majored in chemistry and economics. In 1986, he left school to start his own company.

Edward is an entrepreneur, lifelong fiscal conservative, business owner and caring humanitarian. He began opening up businesses within the telecommunications industry during the telecommunications boom of the early 90's.  As his company grew, he saw opportunities to merge and/or acquire other companies which would give his company a broader breadth of expertise within the industry and help less fortunate businesses.

As other CEO's realized that Edward had a unique, pragmatic ability to enhance businesses, they began to request him to consult on their businesses.  This started Edward along the path of business consulting where he would do so for free when smaller business could not afford to pay for his services.  He has been responsible for many businesses avoiding bankruptcy and providing a living for countless employees.

In 2000, he sold his conglomerate of companies and moved to Florida where he continued his service to less fortunate Americans and eventually, began consulting for other companies. Because of what he perceived as a dire need, in 2004, as a proud Hispanic American, he opened a minority owned, federal consulting and general contracting company that works in V A Medical Centers providing top quality projects throughout these facilities.  In 2008, he ran for United States Congress where he made a respectable showing in a 3 person race, handily beating an experienced politician and coming in second to the incumbent.  While the victory was not realized, the overwhelming support of a significant base encouraged him to run again.  As Edward duly notes, "The reason that I ran in 2008 is the same reason that I must run again in 2010, my children have a congressman that does nothing."  In 2009, Edward was elected as President of the Latin American Republican Club where it is his desire to have the burgeoning Hispanic community have a real voice in government.

By his own admission, Edward is just a "regular guy" and never considered the option of running for Congress.  It was not until he witnessed first hand, the waste of taxpayer money, the corruption, the poor treatment of our veterans and the issues of our citizens never truly being addressed by our government officials, that he decided that it was time for a change and he was going to get involved to make those changes.  His boundless energy, his passion, and his common sense approach to solving problems are the qualities that will serve him well as our next Congressman, and he will help to restore that which made America into the most prosperous and free country on the face of the earth.

Edward resides in West Palm Beach with his wife Jennifer and two children, Isabella and Edward Jr. and sits on the board of The Children's Healing Institute.

I must humbly call upon you to help me to continue our fight against all that is wrong with our government by contributing to my campaign. I have a tough primary fight to win and then the special general election against Robert Wexler's handpicked replacement. I can win this important battle and I will, but only with your help. Please help me to finish the year strong.

Giving to our campaign will insure that I will have all of the tools that I need to continue fighting on your behalf, now and in Washington D.C. If each person that reads this were to contribute only $50, our campaign would have more than enough resources to win this election. We need to purchase signs, printed materials, commercials and other advertising to make sure that I am prepared to start 2010 with a bang and, most importantly, a victory for the people of District 19 and our children. You can contribute $100, $500, $1000 or $2400 per election cycle here.

Anything that you can contribute to the future of our nation is greatly appreciated.

The Edward Lynch for Congress Campaign is proud and honored to announce the endorsement of local grassroots organization DC Works for Us.

http://www.dcworksforus.com/Ed_Lynch_For_Congress_Dist__19.html

This organization recognized Edward Lynch understands the power he will have in Washington D.C. is only granted to him by the people in which he seeks to serve, a principle that is currently lacking in most representatives in Washington D.C.
